Three Films: Lido, Treehouse, Gymnasium
2005
Three screen film installation
Format: Super 8 film, cine-projectors, make-shift looping system
Length: Each film is 3 mins

A handheld Super 8 camera observes three sites of communal activity. It slowly scans the architectural elements of each deserted space as an investigation into the physical dynamics of social behavior. The choice of the three sites; a seaside public Lido, a school gymnasium and a woodland tree-house complex reflect an intricate exploration of uses of public and private space.

This work was made during residency at artist-run gallery LOT, Bristol. An excerpt from Jonathan Swift's 'Gulliver’s Travels' was printed as a text accompaniment to the films for this exhibition. It has subsequently been screened at Chapter Arts Centre, Cardiff 2006, Leeds International Film Festival 2007 & Cloud Castle Lake, Club Shepway, 2005.

The work was a Small Wonders project by Picture This Moving Image
